Cornerstone Baptist Church was organized on June 4, 1989, by Southern Baptist men and women seeking to worship the Lord Jesus Christ in freedom from the traditions of men. The traditions of men have effectively and consistently upstaged the Word of God. These men and women felt the need to organize a Southern Baptist church based entirely upon Jesus Christ. The members of Cornerstone Baptist Church believe that Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone (Isaiah 28:16) of the church, and the unity of all believers is built upon the foundation of the Chief Cornerstone (Eph. 2:20), not the traditions of men or denominations.
